Looking for a weekend getaway with your girlfriends? Look no further than Savannah, Georgia! This charming southern city is the perfect destination for a fun-filled weekend with your besties. From historic landmarks to delicious cuisine, this travel guide has everything you need to plan the ultimate Savannah girl’s weekend!
Accommodations
When it comes to accommodations in Savannah, there are plenty of options to choose from. There are a lot of hotels and charming Airbnb’s in Savannah. Whatever your preference, there’s a perfect place to stay in Savannah for your girl’s weekend. During my recent visit, we stayed at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. The JW is located in the heart of the historic district, with three buildings right on the water and a short walk to many shops and restaurants! It’s an ideal location that is central to everything. Each building has a different theme, we stayed in the Atlantic building which has a contemporary maritime theme. This building also has a rooftop pool and for my gym goers, a modern gym setup that even has a Peloton bike, which was a pleasant surprise as a Peloton addict myself!
Dining
It wouldn’t be a girl’s weekend in Savannah without indulging in some delicious food and drinks! For a fancy dinner, head to The Grey, a restored Greyhound bus station turned upscale restaurant with a Southern-inspired menu. Another option that is good for lunch or dinner is The Olde Pink House. This is a colonial mansion turned into a restaurant with out-of-this-world southern dishes and custom cocktails. We loved their take on a “Pink Lemonade.”
If you are in the mood for some seafood look no further than Vic’s on the River! You will want to make a reservation because this place fills up! Their crab cakes were divine! They also have a coffee and desert bar downstairs if you want an after-dinner treat. It wouldn’t be a dinner list if I didn’t include a Mexican option! Savannah Tequila and Co. hit the spot, their motto is “Come for the Tequila, stay for the Tacos!” and both did not disappoint!
For my brunch lovers you have to try The Collins Quarter, known for their brunch and Australian-inspired dishes. I feel in love with their Thai Iced Coffee! Short on time you can also order at their to go window, in one of their two locations in Savannah.
Last but not least! You can’t miss this Savannah staple, Leopold’s Ice Cream! They have been in business for over a century serving up the most delicious ice cream!! There is always a line out the door and halfway down the block. Trust me it’s worth the wait, and I can attest personally, they have the best vegan ice cream I have ever tasted!
Attractions
Savannah is full of must-see attractions for a girl’s weekend. Take a stroll through Forsyth Park, a 30-acre park with beautiful fountains and gardens. Visit the historic Bonaventure Cemetery, known for its stunning architecture and haunting beauty. And for a unique experience, take a ghost tour of the city, where you can learn about Savannah’s haunted history while exploring the city’s most spooky locations.
Shopping
No girl’s weekend is complete without some shopping! For the best shopping experience, I suggest starting in the Savannah Historic District, where you can find everything from antique shops to trendy boutiques. If you want even more shopping you will want to head to Broughton Street. One store you will want to pop into is The Paris Market. The market is two floors of vintage treasures from all over the world (middle photo!), they also have a Parisian Coffee Bar in case you need an afternoon pick me up! Another store I couldn’t leave out is over on Whitaker Street, and that is The Printed Peach. My Lilly lovers this store is a must-see! The staff is so helpful and they had all of the latest season looks. I had such a hard time not buying multiple new summer outfits! Last but not least, for my cat lovers and bookworms you have to pop into E. Shaver Bookseller on Bull Street. If for nothing else you need to meet their adorable instore cats. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Elliott, behind the cash wrap!
Conclusion
I highly recommend Savannah for your next girl’s trip! There is so much more I didn’t get to, but I am already looking forward to my next trip!
